The base shoe is an integral component of any frameless glass balustrade system. The markets now flooded with different base channels each claiming to be the best. All base channel are approximately 120mm high and vary in width, but take an average of 60-70mm wide. Glass Balustrade thickness available are 12mm, 15mm, and 19mm toughened, and 13.52mm, 17.52mm, 21.52mm, and 25.52mm laminated toughened glass. You can buy Base channels surface or side mounted, available in 3m or 5m lengths. Almost all base shoes are made from aluminium and can be powder coated in any RAL of your choice.
Consequently, not all jobs are the same. Therefore when necessary we also make bespoke channels made from mild steel. Thus, as a result of years of experience, I like using the following base shoes, and we are open to the whole market so you can choose which suits your project best.
